Steve's KR2

Video Gallery

This is a video clip of the early stages of building. It's in the "boat" stage here. The "turtle deck" and canopy frame are ready to fit and form. Langing gear and firewall are installed. Notice the wings are complete and ready for paint preperation.

Here is a look at our KR2 on the inside and outside. It was hangered in this hanger in Newton Kansas for a about a year while I fine tuned it and put on several taxi runs.

I was FAA certified in 1993 and this video was shot in 94 or 95.

This is a video of the first high speed taxi on the runway. The engine was running great and I felt like I could have just put it up in the air. I did 8 or 9 complete lengths of the runway and back taxis. I could feel that it wanted to lift at about 45-50 mph. Exhilarating!               It was soon after this that the KR2 was damaged in transport and never flew.

I've had the KR2 stored in my garage now for the past ten years since it was damaged. I recently gave it an inspection and started it up. It ran fine but needs some carburator tuning. It was running rich and wouldn't run up to high rpms. It has a Posa carb and will probably need a fuel needle adjustment.
